WHO WE ARE
BARJORA ASHAR ALO
Barjora Ashar Alo is a non-governmental, non-profit making, non-political, and philanthropic association that was established on May 9th, 1998 in Barjora, Bankura. Our core objective is to work towards the betterment of disabled individuals in the Barjora area through special education, therapeutic services, clinical support, pre-vocational and vocational training, and rehabilitation. The journey of Barjora Ashar Alo began with the initiation of a special school, which started with just four children and one special educator. Initially, the school operated from a small rented house in Barjora. However, due to the absence of any other special schools within a 40-kilometer radius, the organization grew rapidly. Today, it provides outstanding services to a sound number of special children with various disabilities, including mental challenges, autism, cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities, and hearing impairments.
The primary aim of Barjora Ashar Alo is to provide special education to mentally challenged individuals, enabling them to become independent in activities of daily living, social skills, and vocational skills. By empowering these individuals, our organization strives to facilitate their successful rehabilitation into mainstream society. Barjora Ashar Alo believes in the potential of every disabled person and works tirelessly to ensure they receive the necessary support to lead fulfilling lives.
